Another Day, Another Deployment

WeblogPoMo2024

Having a sibling in the military during massive unrest around the world is nerve-wracking.

Yesterday, I learned that my Navy brother is being deployed next week Wednesday. He'll be on the USS Delbert Black this time, and will be heading back to the Red Sea. He's due to be gone for four months, but as we learned last time, that can always change.

And so thus begins the seemingly-endless weeks of worry until he returns home.

My hope is that the deployment is just four months, and I'm also hoping to be able to go to Florida and welcome his ship home. We were robbed of that opportunity last time, as he was flown home from Greece.

Fair winds and following seas, brother. I'll see you again soon.
